If Block Market Music was a military
operation, its founder Relly would serve as the
captain and, “Ace-O” would
be his lieutenant. With his quiet confidence and superior rap
skills, 21-year-old Ace-O has been writing raps since he was
14. “I didn’t take it seriously until 2004,” says
Ace-O, but rapping was always there for me.” Traveling
back and forth from Omaha to St. Louis to record music, he
describes himself as an all-around rapper and entertainer. “I
am versatile, I can do mainstream, gangsta rap, I write, act,
I do all of that, I try to be a well-rounded entertainer as
a whole, Ace-O says. Recruited by Relly, the founder and CEO
of Block Market Music, Ace-O lists one of his main musical
influences as Tupac. “Tupac was not only a musician,
but had the drive to achieve his goals.” He lists
his other inspiration as his mother, who passed away in 2000. “She
showed me how to live life and inspired me to make the right
decisions,” says Ace-O. With his distinct vocals and
talent for words, Ace-O writes about what he knows. “Some
rappers write what they think people will like, I write from
the heart,” says Ace-O.
